No, I'm not reporting on this match, honest
David Hopps of the Guardian caught pushing technology to the limits by using Skype in the media centre at the National Cricket Ground in Georgetown, Guyana. Dave and I trained together as hacks in Cardiff back in ... 1980?? ... and we compared shorthand to see how well it had survived 27 years of adulteration. The reply? not that well. "It's not funny David ... it's tragic," as our lovely shorthand teacher Mrs R. used to castigate us. Well I bet John Inverdale has forgotten all of it.
