West Ham lucky to get away with a win

Mike Jones really should have disallowed the goal that gave 10-man West Ham victory over Millwall in a passionate local derby on Saturday. Jones had a clear view of West Ham striker Julian Faubert running straight into the Millwall goalkeeper as he punched the ball clear.

Faubert even looked directly at the goalkeeper before running into him and taking him out of the action. The ball bounced tocentre half Reid, who fired into an empty net to make the score 2-1.
Earlier Jones introduced Premier League values to the Championship when he sent off West Ham captain Kevin Nolan after 10 minutes. Nolan can have no argument, especially in a week when the issue has been clearly set out in the media by referees' chief Mike Riley. Nolan jumped in two-footed and could have seriously injured his opponent. A straight red, no argument.
