I'm all for conspiracy theories, but....

I'm afraid I'm not going to fall for the theory that Bahrain's 10-0 victory over Indonesia in a World Cup qualifier this week was anything other than a moderate team beating an absolutely rubbish one.

The fact that the only way Bahrain could have progressed was by winning by 9 goals quite rightly raised some FIFA eyebrows and they've launched an investigation.
But I've checked out the trusty youtube. Indonesia's regular goalkeeper was sent off after a few minutes for fouling an attacker who was through on goal. His replacement looked as though he had never put on a pair of goalie gloves before (which considering the depth of Indoesnian football is probably quite possible).
Two penalties, some half decent goals and four or five complete howlers by goalie and defenders. None of them looked deliberate. The Indonesians can't even blame corruption I'm afraid. It's incompetence, plain and simple.
And although Bahrain made up the deficit needed to qualify, they still didn't go through becasue Qatar qualified instead with an 83rd minute equaliser against Iran.
