Spaniard Carlos Velasco Carballo is heading home after a sub-par performance in the first game of the tournament, when nerves appeared to get the better of him and he issued two doubtful red cards against Greece and Poland.
Carballo is a top ref but the pressure of opening the tournament seemed to get the better of him and he lost a little control. He yellow carded unnecessarily and then found himself obliged to send someone off.
Such is Spain's incredible form, that it's unlikely he would ever referee a final.
