But it should not have been allowed. The guy who is lined up next to the kicker is standing at least a foot or so in the opposing team's half. Law 8 states that everyone has to be in their own half at kick off.
Imagine if the ref had disallowed that "goal". The guy who scored it would have murdered his teammate.
