From Nou Camp to New Kent

Had a quiet Friday afternoon in Barcelona last week so took the official trip around the massive Nou Camp. Most impressive bowl of a stadium with "More than a club" written on the stadium seats in Catalan. Fascinating to see the link between Barca and the sense of Catalan autonomy. 24 hours later the turf was not quite to pristine in the weald of Kent but the atmosphere was as spicy as the Chorizo sausages I sampled in Spain. Four bookings, mostly for dissent as two teams played out a tense 3-2. Booked one player manager who'd been lecturing me on the Laws of the Game from the touchline and than couldn't stop when he came on. Still, it was an exciting match and I felt fitter than I have done for a long time.
