Player cautioned after 10 minutes. At half time, as usual, I write the name down neatly and compare the spelling with that on the team sheet. Hang on a second, there's no such name on the team sheet. Your advice please on my next step.
i would get the manager to confirm the name at full time...
ever thought about using the match card for your cautions... what i do is ask him for his name then point to it, "this one?" then put a c1/c2 etc beside it in pencil, but ill also write his number on the back on my yellow card... to prevent what has become commonly known as the "poll"
Report the caution with the name given to you. State that the name given does not appear on the team sheet and then let the FA and league sort it out. It's not your problem.
